Why is pypi.org/project/pmtiles/ experimental?

on PyPi is stated:

This library should be considered experimental.

I want to use this library but I'm a bit confused if I can expect the python lib to be as stable as e.g. go-pmtiles. Can I expect the go and python libs to have the same results? Or are the Python libs rather legacy code?

You should expect both to create valid PMTiles archives, but they are not necessarily byte-for-byte identical.

The python library is used in production in the rio-pmtiles CLI as well as the Mapterhorn project. So we ought to remove that sentence from the README.
