No, this project is essentially dead. I am actually working on a successor to this library but it's still a work-in-progress. I have already separated out the Telegram CLI portion of things which you can find here https://github.com/watzon/telegram.cr, but I am still planning on building out a new framework on top of that that offers a lot more sugar.

Side question. Do you think Crystal is viable option to use for hobby projects? I feel like its have very limited ecosystems and most packages don't have updates from 2022-2023. Also blog looks quite dead to me. If you can share your thought as I see you are using it for number of years already?

It's still actively developed, but the overall bullishness on more obscure languages like Crystal has been waning in the past couple years. It really depends on what your goals are. You can definitely still build things in Crystal, and lots of people are doing so, but it isn't and will probably never be a mainstream language.
