Empty complications don't hide

I have all complications disabled and after a while of wearing the watch, sometimes hours, sometimes days, the complications show like in the screenshot and overlay the text.
When I go in the settings the complications show to be configured empty in the settings. When I go to add a complication and remove it again it shows no empty complications but leaves those out entirely.

Hey @psychowood. I wrote to you at reddit probably a year ago about this and you told me to add my findings to this issue so here I am :)

I can confirm this problem with my Pixel Watch (also set to German just like Xyolyp).
I can force (and fix) the issue doing the following:

• When I have this bug and I change the watchface of my watch to any other watchface and then back to Twelveish, the complications hide like they should and do not show the "--" you can see in the screenshot above
• When I lock the watch (for example by taking it off my my arm) they stay hidden on the watchface
• Then when I unlock the watch they complications now show the "--" instead of being hidden
• Rinse and repeat: I can perform step 1 to hide them again until I lock and unlock the watch.

The original Twelveish also has this bug and it appeared after a WearOS update although I am not sure which one. My Pixel Watch is on software version Wear OS 5.0, Build AW2A.241105.012, Wear Main Services 1.22.59.706713850, System UI 5.2.1.658431477
