As the tile states as of today what would be a good outdoor sensor with very good battery life?
I need to report the temperature once an hour-ish, so a very long polling interval. |

Sensor CHT8305 limits operation when the battery is discharged to 2.5V.
But if the two-year battery life of the cheapest saline batteries is sufficient for you, then these sensors can be used. With other sensors, the battery life will increase by another couple of years.
Example of operation in a refrigerator freezer (TS0201 TZ3000):
This sensor also operates in "LE Long Range" mode to increase the reception range. However, its power consumption is higher than that of BLE with PHY 1M.
