This is a place to discuss the neutron absorber shuffle recipes:
plutonium-shuffle-1plutonium-shuffle-2plutonium-shuffle-3plutonium-shuffle-4which were adapted from PyHM. The recipe
plutonium-shuffle-2has some use as a way to produce pu-238 as a primary product, but the other three recipes are all less efficient than simply voiding the unwanted "candies" and using the plutonium peroxide to runplutonium-seperation(sic).For example, consider
plutonium-shuffle-3:This recipe consumes 35 plutonium peroxide to make 1 pu-239 (and a pu-241, which is irrelevant since it's simply an input to another equally bad shuffling recipe). The problem is that this 35 plutonium peroxide could have been used in
plutonium-seperation:Instead of getting 1 pu-239, we get 5.57, and if for some reason you really cared about that pu-241, well, we also get more of that output, as well as some valuable pu-238.
I would like to see these recipes buffed by reducing the amount of pu-peroxide required as input. I haven't run the numbers, but as a rough ballpark, I would say any amount over 5 pu-peroxide per shuffle is too much.
