Experience with Color and Distance Sensor¶

Hi, what is your experience with the combined Color and Distance Sensor¶?

I wonder how it compars tot he spike sensors? Is the distance measurement reliable or could one produce comparable results by simpply measuring the reflected light with the spike color sensors?

The distance measurement uses infrared reflection. The range is much farther than using reflected light. It is still a relative measure of distance, and measures in only 10 steps.

Color measurement should be quite good, especially if you calibrate the colors. All in all, it's a pretty decent sensor considering it is only $15.
