anyone able to use an old smartphone via USB as display for an EV3

Hello all,

The display of the EV3 is not the best readable display.

I have an old smartphone and tablet, both android, that I would really like as display for the EV3.

Using an usb hub to connect the tablet to the EV3 would be nice. Via bluetooth seems over the top for the EV3.

But I have no idea if it is (easily) possible.

So I ask here: did anyone try and succeed to do that?

If you are using VSCode with the EV3Dev you can take screenshots to read the display better.

It should be relatively easy to use urequests in MicroPython with the screen.save(filename) to update a an image on a web page, on your local network or interwebs, every 5seconds or whatever interval you need.

If the later is helpful, a wrapper class could be generated pretty easily
