VSCode Extension for Pybricks (and HubOS)

I am really proud to share my work from the past weeks, turning to be quite stable by now.
The two teams FIRST LEGO Teams I am coaching and co-coaching are getting quite advanced and I started creating this to help them, but happy to share it with anyone.

Features

• Connect/disconnect your Hub via Bluetooth or USB
  Pybricks BLE, HubOS BLE and USB.
• Start/stop programs directly from VS Code
• Compile and upload Python scripts from your workspace
• View compilation and runtime errors in your code
• Open and convert majority of the LEGO robotics file formats (EV3, RBF, EV3classroom, SPIKE, RI, WeDo2).
  Conversion to Pybricks compatible Python code.
• Auto-connect to the last used hub
• Auto-start your script on save
• Receive program status and display hub output messages
• Plot live sensor data and save to csv
• Experimental: Debug your code in VSCode with preset breakpoints.

Quite happy for your feedback, early patient explorers to test and any feature ideas.

Hi Attila,

I am no VScode fan, but it has it's benefits.

A step I missed in your getting started was open de BlocklyPy commander on the left side.
Did strugle with 'connect your hub' until I opened the BlocklyPy Commander panel.

So I am just starting ;-)

I tried it and it just works! Amazing work! What's the best way to get pybricks interfaces in so that pylance can do autocomplete etc.?

The pybricks official page is quite great and essentially gives the right clue.

You will need a local python environment, and though we will not use it for compilation we can use vscode's python extension and the pybricks stub.
