Expose build_run_context

Description

I want to manually call a tool in a FunctionToolset. For that I need a RunContext. Would it make sense to expose build_run_context so there's a canonical way to create one from the current graph run?

Sure.

In the end of the day I have a FunctionToolset and I just need to call its tools.

The use case is user-in-the-loop and the need to create human readable descriptions of tools calls, including those needing approval. I do this by having having essentially three toolsets:

• one with the actual tools
• one with tools that take the same arguments as the actual tools but return a human-readable string
• one with tools that take the same arguments as the actual tools but return a "diff" that corresponds to what the tool would do, if approved

It's the latter two I need to call manually as they are actually not tools I pass to the agent (and thus agent won't call them for me).

Basically when I stream the ExecuteToolCalls node for each tool call I call one of the two latter toolsets to get the data I need to send to the frontend (and user).

@tibbe Thanks for that additional context, I wonder if we could support something like that natively by having additional callables attached to tools.

Do those helper tools tools actually need the RunContext/deps? Or would an empty RunContext object be sufficient?

Yes. For example the context has the currently logged in user.

@tibbe OK, then a way to generate your own RunContext makes sense. Since build_run_context depends on GraphRunContext (AgentRun.ctx), a new method on AgentRun makes sense to me. Would you be up for contributing this?
