How to rename a file?

Hello! How might I rename a file during the build process? I can map a source directory to a build directory as follows:

[tool.hatch.build]
include = [
  "/source/path/"
]

[tool.hatch.build.sources]
"source/path/" = "build/path"

But I can not figure out how to map and rename a file. The following fails silently:

[tool.hatch.build]
include = [
  "/source/path/source_file.py"
]

[tool.hatch.build.sources]
"source/path/source_file.py" = "build/path/build_file.py"

I am facing a similar issue.
In my case, I want to implement a build hook which processes an included file. The result is stored with a different filename (f.e. module.pyxyz). This processed file should be included in the distribution, while I want to explicitly avoid adding the non-processed file (module.py).

Any ideas how this could be done?
