Exception: The program BioNetGen was not found in the default search path(s)

I follow the instructions to install bionetgen to the letter, no matter what I do it does not work. I installed it with conda as well, but it doesn't help. I did the installation of the vs code plugin and perl, and .bngl files are able to open, but nope.
And no matter how often I dod 'pip install bionetget', I get get

Conda users can install BioNetGen using the following command:
conda install -c alubbock bionetgen

I also tried the conda thing, of course.

Are you working on Windows, macOS, or Linux? If Windows or Mac, are you working in a container or other virtual environment?
