Request: Start publishing releases on this Github repo

Like many other developers, I like to get notified of new software releases by subscribing to new releases for a particular Github repo. Github makes this easy using it's Watch > Custom > [x] Releases feature.

However, this repo unfortunately doesn't seem to publish any releases on Github (see Releases). I understand that this repo does publish tags, which is great, but I unfortunately can't subcribe to that to get notifications.

What do you think?

I think it is not a bad idea, but it may not be worth the effort when Release managers already have a lot to do.

Duplicate of #123444, and I'm still in favour as long as it is automated after the tag is pushed (for example, via GitHub Actions).
