D. Committees and Responsibilities

1. Chair

  • responsible for setting High-level Priorities
  • Oversees the Committee Heads and Removes Blockers

2. Website and Design

  • responsible for building the PyCon website
  • responsible for web and print advertisements
  • responsible for tarpaulin and banner designs
  • responsible for brochure
  • responsible for the design of speakers, volunteer, and participants IDs
  • responsible for preparing swags design

3. Program Committee

  • responsible for coming up with a theme.
  • responsible for making a schedule.
  • responsible for calling, choosing, and preparing for speakers.

4. Logistics team

  • responsible for conference venue, food and equipment
  • responsible for the online conference platform
  • tasks also include all the footwork and communication needed to get things in order for our conference venue, food and equipment

5. Marketing and Sponsorship

  • responsible for looking for sponsors and coordinating with them to see to it that their needs are met based on the appropriate sponsorship package benefits
  • responsible for providing deliverables to sponsors before, during and after the event
  • responsible for going to events and advertising PyCon PH.
  • responsible for social media exposure (facebook, twitter, instagram, linkedin etc).
  • responsible for writing a report on PyCon PH, to be used for blogs and future references
  • responsible for mailchimp (email marketing and announcements)

6. Stage-hand team

  • responsible for helping speakers with technical setup, provide water bottles and other needs
  • responsible for extra projector, microphone, tables, laptop, etc.
  • should be on standby in case something goes wrong on-stage.
  • should see to the needs of the audience.
  • responsible for ensuring that our Code of Conduct is enforced throughout the conference for speakers.

7. Guest Relations

  • responsible for guiding guests and answer random queries
  • responsible for the Help Desk, Usher and Crowd Control
  • responsible for gathering feedback (during pycon and after pycon).
  • responsible for informing participants of Code of Conduct prior to conference.
  • Filipino hospitality for our foreign speakers
  • Accommodation for foreign speakers/guests
  • Meeting foreign speakers/guests at the airport
  • escort foreign speakers/guests to their hotel
  • immigration letters
  • responsible for ensuring that our Code of Conduct is enforced throughout the conference for speakers for participants

8. Documentation Team

  • responsible for finding a videographer/photographer for PyCon PH
  • responsible for writing a blog post on PyCon PH.
  • responsible for updating website once the images and videos are available
