I was wondering if I could find out why the default minimum file size for checking for duplicate files is 16 kB.
As a new user of Czkawka/Krokiet (Krokiet GUI 11.0.1), I created some small size and number of files in a test directory to gain experience. I found though that "small" duplicate files were not reported in Czkawka nor Krokiet.
For my own use, I've set the minimum to 0 kB, because if I had used Krokiet on my "real" files, I might never have noticed that files smaller than the minimum would not be checked. I can guess (but don't know) that one reason for a non-zero minimum may be to reduce the number of "comparisons."
This may well have been considered, but as a new user, I would rather have Krokiet not initially skip any files and have to revise the minimum up, rather than finding out that it hadn't check files because I had missed adjusting the minimum size. I do see that the "Excluded Item" setting has an initial list of directory wildcards. This all is a reminder to me that as a new user, I need to do a better job reviewing instructions and settings. I can also understand that developers strive for a balance.

Hello,
I was wondering if I could find out why the default minimum file size for checking for duplicate files is 16 kB.
As a new user of Czkawka/Krokiet (Krokiet GUI 11.0.1), I created some small size and number of files in a test directory to gain experience. I found though that "small" duplicate files were not reported in Czkawka nor Krokiet.
After more scans with other files, I ended up re-reading https://github.com/qarmin/czkawka/blob/master/instructions/Instruction.md much more carefully and found that it states the minimum is 1 kB. The minimum in Krokiet GUI 11.0.1 is 16 kB.
