Artemis is not compatible with Java 25

Just a heads up that Artemis is not compatible with Java 25 as it's using the SecurityManager in its audit logging.

See for instance: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARTEMIS-4975

So if you're using Artemis, it might be a good idea to start pinging the Artemis people there or provide a patch.

So it seems the PR was closed (without merge), but https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARTEMIS-5711 was created, discussed in apache/artemis#5993 and resolved via apache/artemis@177ec42. This means that with the next minor release (2.44.0), artemis should be java-25 compatible.

artemis was bumped to version 2.44.0 with #950.

So this should (tm) make us java-25 compatible.

We released version 3.10.2 (central.sonatype.com).

I tested this yesterday locally with Java 25 (I also set maven.compiler.release to 25). I did not run native compilation/native tests. There were some exceptions from vertx (looked like something during shutdown failed) but the tests still succeeded. So it seems like everything worded™️ .

But then again... I also tested without the artemis upgrade to 2.44.0, and this worked as well.

We prepared branch https://github.com/quarkiverse/quarkus-artemis/tree/feature/java-25. As of now, we "only" migrated the infrastructure code (i.e. images, jdk-versions, ...) to java 25. Switching the actual build release-version 25, however, should be minimal effort.
