Quarkus Sessions and Activities
Tekton and ArgoCD: The Dynamic Duo for GitOps-based Continuous I/D/D
Speaker: Kevin Dubois
Abstract: As the use of containers and Kubernetes for application deployment becomes more widespread, managing the continuous integration/delivery/deployment process can still be a challenge. Tekton and ArgoCD are two CNCF projects that aim to simplify and automate the CI/CD process for containerized applications. In this talk, I will provide an overview of Tekton and ArgoCD and show how they can be used together to streamline the CI/CD process. I will demo how to deploy new features to a Quarkus (game) application in a streamlined and controlled way (and perhaps the audience will get to even play along? :)). This talk is aimed at developers, DevOps engineers, and other Cloud Native / Kubernetes practitioners who are interested in learning more about Tekton and ArgoCD and how they can be used to improve the automation of building and deploying applications.
Distributed Tracing Integration with OpenTelemetry and Knative
Speaker: Daniel Oh
Abstract: Scaling application platforms give site reliability engineers a significant burden on collecting telemetry data from a single cluster to multiple clouds. You’re probably handy to observe metrics with comprehensive dashboards by 3rd party application performance monitoring tools in traditional environments. However, the application topologies are getting more complex due to the distribution of cloud-native microservices. Infrastructures have also been varying from Linux containers to IoT edge devices, public cloud, and Kubernetes. This is a new challenge for dev and ops to trace application chains. This talk guides you through the distributed tracing integration with OpenTelemetry for serverless functions. OpenTelemetry allows you to collect telemetry data such as metrics, logs, and traces then enables you to analyze applications’ performance and behavior.
In Italia, l’Open Source è aperto alle donne?I
Speaker: Anna Deppi
