Making cross-references across chapters in a Website?

Description

I have a general question regarding Quarto websites.

Context: I'm writing training material with Quarto, and I want to have two outputs: html and a pdf via Typst. Given that Quarto books do not support Typst output yet, I use a Quarto website project.

Problem: I need to make cross-references to equations across chapters. I understand that Quarto websites do not support this feature by default.

Question: Is there a way to make cross-references across chapters in a Website?

The question is confusing as you are mixing terminology and formats.

• Website has no "chapters".
• Book does not support Typst.
• cross-reference imply "one document" thus even if you render each page of your website to Typst/PDF, there is no way for a cross-reference link to target another file.
• website supports links to any other pages (not cross-references per se)
