No, you can't. Instead, have _content.qmd and your file both include a file that contains only the block of interest.

I don't know what you mean; includes will likely not work with images.

That's not the same thing, embed is to include computed elements from other documents.
include is a copy/paste.

Agree that being able to refer to markdown blocks via either Includes or embed would be immensely useful. Perhaps another case for a high-order "wikilink" type functionality (#1585).

https://quarto.org/docs/authoring/contents.html is a step toward reusing content. It is maint for code cell, but works with ids from divs or spans.

Maybe it is not enough, but couples with a lua filter, maybe this can be close.

Just ideas in case this new addition was new to you
