Using Quarto to replace monolithic website made with rmdformats

Hi,

I created my personal desktop and mobile websites using rmdformats::material and rmdformats::readthedown, respectively. This creates a website that I find reasonably attractive, but it is monolithic and relatively slow to load, so for a while I have been thinking of replacing it with something modular. I am wondering if Quarto can do the trick now or should I wait for someone to make the magic format for me? I have looked over the Quarto documentation on creating websites a bit, and everything I have seen so far doesn't seem to have the visual appeal of rmdformats. Would anyone have pointers on making the transition while maintaining some of the visual appeal of my current website? I am not afraid of writing a bit of CSS, but I am definitely not a revealjs power user by a long shot.
