Input file in shortcodes

Is there a way of knowing the name of the input file (.qmd) in the Lua script of a shortcode?

Yes, PANDOC_STATE, see https://pandoc.org/lua-filters.html#global-variables.
It contains PANDOC_STATE.input_files (https://pandoc.org/lua-filters.html#type-commonstate).

Indeed, that was my first approach. But dumping PANDOC_STATE only yielded an unhelpful pandoc CommonState: 0x6000011a4f78. I then dumped a few of the variables listed on the pandoc website, but I didn't try the output_file one.

Oof, that's really horrible. We need to improve that routine to work better with this data.

The quarto.utils.dump utility is great!! It makes things so much easier than when I was trying to make Lua filters for RMarkdown. If you can make it compatible with even more types that would be really appreciated.

How do you get the input file, exactly? when I dump the PANDOC_STATE, I get the following output. I guess I want to get the relative path of the file (relative to _quarto.yml)

The input_files field seems to refer to a temporary file of some kind? What am I missing in this situation?
