Is there an auto way to have sections name assigned to titles?

Hi,
I have this kind of book chapter

# Chapter Name {#sec-chaptername}

## Chapter Section 1

## Chapter Section 2

Is there a way to write in another chapter something like @sec-chaptername#chapter-section-2 to reference a link to the second section of this chapter?

Or the only way is to add a "standard" link as [my label](my-chapter.qmd#chapter-section-2)?

You can use the same id style syntax for sections. For example:

# Introduction

This is a book created from markdown and executable code.

## Section 1 {#sec-intro-1}

This could indeed be really handy to have an id created, at rendering, for all sections (i.e., h* tags for HTML).
The possible tricky part is to eventually handle the section level and to ensure ids are unique.

One thing to keep in mind about automatically generated section ids is that as the section text changes, the id will change (and references to the section will break). We should warn in this case, making it not so bad to fix, but just FYI.

In my opinion it would be great to have it as feature. It's only a proposal, I'm not able to contribute with coding :(
