Adding metadata for a Quarto Revealjs Presentation. #3287

Hi,

I have created a revealjs slide in Quarto (See https://github.com/JauntyJJS/NHS-R2022, source code in index.qmd file) and wish to add some metadata.

I understand from this discussion that it is possible to do this in Quarto Book and html output but the way to do it for a revealjs output seems unclear to me.

I tried to add the following to the index.qmd

meta() %>%
  meta_name("github-repo" = "JauntyJJS/NHS-R2022") %>% 
  meta_social(
    title = "Viewing Multiple Inteactive Plots Using Plotly and Trelliscopejs",
    description = glue::glue("
    NHS-R Online Conference 2022.

but it gives this error when I click on the Render button

Error in FUN(X[[i]], ...) : 
  Dependency metathis-04a1b509 0.1.0 is not disk-based
Calls: .main ... dependencies_from_render -> html_dependencies_as_string -> lapply -> FUN
In addition: Warning message:
knitr output format is not HTML. Use `include_meta()` to ensure that the <meta> tags are properly included in the <head> output (if possible). 
Execution halted

Is there an alternative way to do this ?

As described in the discussion you referenced, you need to provide the metadata as HTML to be used in include-in-header YAML option.

Many thanks for your assistant.

I have tried the first option and it is good enough for me.
The meta data can be read in the twitter card validator https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator

Putting the link in the tweet now gives me this.

There's also this discussion as a (closed) issue for metathis which gives a neat way to use that package to create a meta.html file that can then be included in the header, rather than all those lines as text (edited from that issue to use revealjs format, but otherwise using Shannon's talk's details:
