Not able to use Iconify icons in the navbar

Description

I installed @mcanouil's iconify extension so that I could use the StackExchange icon in my navbar. Though I am able to use that in the index.qmd file using the shortcode {{< iconify mdi stackexchange >}}, I am not able to use it as a Nav item icon via this code:

icon is for bi icon.
You need to use text key.

@mcanouil Since I have your attention, can you also, if possible, look into #6049? (I understand if you are not looking in that domain of matters right now.)
