The option to create a ‘quarto document’ cannot be found in R-studio

Description

In my Rstudio there is no option to create a ‘quarto document’ in the menu of ‘File’ - ‘’New file’. But there is version information for quarto and it opens the .qmd document without any problem. But it is not possible to create a new quarto document here.
I'm new to using R and would appreciate any help!

Sorry to hear you have issue.
Note that this repository is about Quarto CLI not the RStudio IDE.
You might want to double check you are using a recent version of RStudio.

Thanks for your help. My R as well as Rstudio is up to date, but the problem still exists. Are there any other possible causes?

As explained, This is an RStudio IDE thing. The IDE should activate the menu when quarto is found. I don't know if you have some error somewhere showing, but I bet they are either not finding your quarto or it runs with issue.

Did you install quarto by yourself ? If so you could try uninstall and use the bundled version which should work.
