How to add star footnote next to title

Dear Quarto community,

I'm very much appreciating the Elsevier template for Quarto. I am trying to figure out how to add a star * footnote next to the title. I only see author footnotes in the YAML. Does anyone know how I can add footnotes to the title? As in this paper in the styleguide:

PS: I am a currently a beginner to this coding/latex/style universe.

having the same issue here. i found here a title footnote code, I believe we could use as a workaround insert it on the .tex file and then compile it.
