container stopps after benchmark

hello,
i have just installed your docker on unraid. mainly its running fine, but how can i stop it from automaticly starting the benchmark, if the docker container is started? if i want to use my own list, i have only time for the excecution until the background benchmark is done, then the bash closes automaticly and i have to restart the docker. so i need to be fast in typing xD
i think my luck actually is, that there is no router on 192.168.0.1 so it takes a little longer until it finish

Hello @M2k80,

In order to use the custom servers list inside the docker container you have to mount your file with --volume docker option and rewrite the default container executable command providing the path to your file. There is no need to connect to the container. Here is the example which I succeeded to run:

$ docker run --rm -it --name dns-bench --volume /home/alexandr/projects/dns-bench/examples/ipv4-custom-servers-example.txt:/ipv4-custom-servers-example.txt qwerty541/dns-bench:0.7.1 /bin/bash -c "dns-bench --custom-servers-file /ipv4-custom-servers-example.txt"

on unraid you start the container with the webif, then you open the console (shell) and can use commands.
my problem is, when i start the container, it automaticly excecutes dns-bench and when its done with the job, the shell will be closed. then i cant open the "console" shell again until i restart it.

can i prevent that dns-bench is automaticly excetutet at container start?

I have to say that I never used the unraid and totally unfamiliar with it. You can prevent the dns-bench automatical execution by rewriting the default container executable command. In case you're using terminal it would be docker run --rm -it --name dns-bench qwerty541/dns-bench:0.7.1 /bin/bash. This starts the container with a bash shell instead of the default dns-bench command. In case using Unraid I suppose that there also should be some way of configuring your container in web interface, some option named command or entrypoint. In case it does not exist, I quickly checked their documentation and found there a user scripts plugin (https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/docker-management/#starting-and-stopping-docker-containers-on-a-schedule), as I understood it can be used to run docker containers with commands as in terminal. I hope this would help you resolve the issue.
