Preferably, use the authors (year) doi:... format, to keep things standardized. However, if that's the only issue of your package, I, at least, won't reject just because of the misplaced bracket. I will add a note if that's not the only thing that needs fixing and/or let you know that authors (year) doi:... would be preferred. |

Maybe it would be better to use an example that uses the preferred format, to avoid confusion? Perhaps this one: RcppThread. Also, the CRAN review communication is clearer here that the cookbook solution. I suggest a minor update for clairfication:

In the example references, you use the format authors (year) doi:... However, in the rcpp example people use authors (year, doi:...) ? What format should I use or are both ok?
