Limited USB hub support. What does this mean?

What exactly are the USB hub limitations?
It is my understanding that I need a mouse and keyboard, your device only has one USB port.
I have one of these. Would it work as a USB hub?

Yes, that hub works for a keyboard and mouse because it uses very little power and bandwidth.
The only limitation is that all the devices share the same port, so if you connect larger devices, it might malfunction or run slowly.
If it's just a keyboard and mouse, there's no problem.
