Dark color theme in management UI

the white page maybe hurt our ​eyes when we look at the page for long time. i think dark page would improvement that.

Many years ago someone built a management themes plugin for fun. You can fork it and implement any color scheme you want.

Introducing a dark theme won't be a priority for our team in the foreseeable future.

Again, using this management UI themes plugin as an example, anyone can build a dark them and promote it. RabbitMQ is extensible open source software after all.

Dark theme is very popular in 2025, RabbitMQ documentation site has a dark theme switch. I would really like to see the same implemented, as the lack of it reduces accessibility for users. Light theme is very straining for the eyes, especially when switching from dark theme in IDE. Please add dark theme to plans, i can't believe it is such a difficult task to add such functionality.

It probably isn't, but Team RabbitMQ has much higher priorities. If a customer who pays for RabbitMQ requests this feature, it would raise its priority. As of now, someone with JS and CSS knowledge could figure it out on their own.

@efimov90 if you really would like to see a dark theme, you are welcome to contribute it. This is open source software, asking others to do something you want is not how open source software works.

RabbitMQ management plugin is extensible from other plugins, and rabbitmq-management-themes was developed as early as 2011 or so, as a joke but also demonstrate the extensibility.

Take that code and run with it. You don't need the core team to do that for you.

I can't believe that you get this software for free, with regular updates, a decent degree of support from the core team, and feel entitled to demand more. Are you a royalty or something?
