Visualization of 16 bit cogs

Is there a way to control the 16-bit to 8-bit conversion when displaying 16-bit COGs?
For example, can I specify min and max values for the asset?

Currently not.
Also, you may want to check out the #531 as we will shortly migrate from Leaflet to Openlayers.
There you can control it to some extent through the STAC metadata (STAC 1.1 statistics object for example), otherwise not.
Suggestions for improvements in #531 are welcome.
