Why babel runtime is a dependency?

We are looking to use Radix Slot component but it seems there's a dependency on babel runtime

"dependencies": {
  "@babel/runtime": "^7.13.10",
  "@radix-ui/react-compose-refs": "workspace:*"
},

This is kind of a blocker for us. I'm wondering why are you using this dependency? Is there any plans to remove it?
