How to style invalid Select when required?

Let's say I have a Select component with the required prop set and it doesn't have a default value. If I want to set the Select Trigger border styles red if the user hasn't selected a value, how would I go about that? I would have expected the Select or any compositional components to have a [data-invalid] attribute similar to the [data-state] or [data-disabled] attributes.
