Host Your Own Journaling App with OpenAI RAG Summarizer

  • A Python-based web application for logging daily life events, thoughts, and happenings.

Life Log

A Python-based web application for logging and summarizing daily life events, thoughts, and happenings.

Requirements

  • Python 3.x
  • Flask
  • OpenAI Python library
  • SQLite3

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/raghavan/Life-Logs.git
    
  2. Set up your OpenAI API key:

    • Sign up for an OpenAI account and obtain an API key.
    • Replace "YOUR_OPENAI_API_KEY" in app.py with your actual OpenAI API key.

Usage

  1. Run the application:

    python app.py
    
  2. Access the application in your web browser at http://localhost:5000.

  3. Use the provided interface to log your daily life events, thoughts, and happenings.

  4. Select a period (today, this month, or this year) and click "Get Summary" to generate a summary and an artistic image representation of the logged entries.

  5. View all your log entries in the "All Entries" section.
