Confirm Linux Compatibility

I think I'm right in thinking you've been working on OSX, it's probably worth me testing it on the Linux boot in Lewin to see if it can be expected to work on the eventual diamond Linux boot. Looking through the NXTCommand stuff earlier, got me a bit sceptical after I noticed it detects the operating system and uses a different bluetooth library for each of the 3 main O/S's.

However, this is low priority and if it doesn't work when tested, can be fiddled with at a later point.

There is linux boot int he Diamond in the high performance computing room. In principle the EV3s should be better, since they do Bluetooth PAN, so if IP networkign works then they should work.

Last I checked the Linux boot in high-spec room was having driver issues (due to CICS installing it on those machines 'for testing', rather than the normal machines [that have completely different hardware] that it was prepared for), as such various things don't work, including the graphics running at the safe-mode no drivers resolution.

Also if the door is still locking, it's no use to me unless your able to get me swipe card access (I got red lights when I tried it at the Mole quiz).

We should check bluetooth as an emergency backup for a week on tuesday...

That would make for an awkward lab class if they're using the 1440p monitors at a resolution like 1024x768, whilst being confused by Linux. Possibly not the best way to introduce students to Linux, it's hard to give it a good first impression as it is.

That assumes your around, the rest of the faculty (which has presumably influenced much of the diamond policy) ruins the convenience so often provided by the department having no 'dangerous' equipment.

I'm still hoping Twin will be able to get me swipe access to the VR lab after they get a HTC Vive.
