Description
Approach curve to get the correct amplitude. With 70 mV, it was showing 86 nm, but, after the measurement and the fitting, it showed 490 nm. The voltage was set to 45 mV, the procedure was repeated and the amplitude stayed at 92 nm.
CONSEQUENCES OBSERVED
The tip was excavating the Au substrate due to being badly calibrated...
The suggested procedure should be to set a low voltage, ~10-15 mV, tune the tip, approach and make an approach curve to get the correct amplitude by fitting the M1A signal. Then, adjust the voltage to reach 80 – 100 nm height.
Conditions adjusted at the tuning tip frequency to an amplitude of 85 nm.
