Where the drum came from? #19

Hello! First of all, very cool project. I'm totally newbie on this DIY drum thing and I'm seriously thinking on using DonCon to build one. I have the hardware part mostly covered and a single big question remains before starting: How do you guys do the drum itself? Is there a general schematics somewhere in the net? By intuition? Start with cardboard and then do it with wood? Thank you in advance ❤️ |

Hi and welcome to the rabbit hole! I personally spent way to much time rummaging through the web digging up pictures of disassembled arcade drums and all other information I could find to somehow accurately reconstruct measurements and how the drum is built. Then ordered materials and - after multiple iterations and moments of despair - ended up with the finished drum. Because of that I can't provide you with any concise instructions. This gist is what is written at the end of the README. Keep in mind that I tend to overcomplicate things and people have come up with much simpler constructions which work just as well. Still, if you are interested in any specific parts of the build, feel free to ask anytime :) |
