In **Vedic astrology (Jyotisha)**, there are **27 Nakshatras** (नक्षत्र), which are lunar constellations or star groups used for timekeeping, astrology, and rituals.  

### **List of 27 Nakshatras:**  
Each Nakshatra spans **13°20'** of the zodiac (360° ÷ 27 = 13°20').

### **Abhijit Nakshatra (28th, sometimes considered)**  
A 28th Nakshatra, **Abhijit**, is mentioned in some texts (between Uttara Ashadha and Shravana), but it is not commonly used in mainstream astrology.
