System and Infrastructure Requirements

• A supported version of Fedora is required if using our RPM packages
• Recommended VM with 8 x vcpu and 8 x GB of memory.
• Foreman for managing your DNS, DHCP, PXE and systems lifecycle

Breaking Changes and Migrations

• QUADS 2.2.6 requires Fedora 42 or higher.
• Upgrading from 2.2.4 to 2.2.6 performs a database migration, this happens automatically via the upgrade process for you.

Important

We have added bootmode support in this release

Bootmode Support

• If you want QUADS to enforce setting a particular machine type to BIOS or EFI for Dell systems you need to set this as you desire after upgrading.

• For any EFI systems

for host in $(quads --ls-hosts | grep -E "r660|r760|r6625"); do quads --mod-host --host $host --bootmode Uefi; done`

• For any BIOS systems

for host in $(quads --ls-hosts | grep -E "r630|fc640|r640|r650|r750"); do quads --mod-host --host $host --bootmode Bios; done

• To not have it managed

quads --mod-host --host host01.example.com --bootmode None

• If you just don't set anything it should be the same as setting None

Packaging and Support

Note that the RPM attached this release may contain some additional fixes since the 2.2.6 release in the future.
