The owner of this instance has set up Anubis at an unreasonable difficulty for quite a while now (months?), which does not appear to allow normal users to access their instance even after leaving it running on (and considerably heating up) my laptop for hours.

I use Redlib random instances with the Redirector browser extension to bypass all the reddit login/captcha/"turn on javascript" garbage.

The rl.blitzw.in instance now redirects to one of these garbage screens asking you to turn on javascript, disable extensions, blablabla, says "Making sure you're not a bot" (but provides no actual method to prove you are not a bot, because of course).

I use these frontend instances to AVOID this kind of garbage, so can anyone tell me if there is a way to block instances that do this from the "random instance" pool? When I click "visit random instance" I want to see the content from reddit, not a screen with some novel written on why the host set up the same garbage we're trying to avoid.

This is what I see when I hit "visit random instance" and have the misfortune of being redirected to rl.blitzw.in:

@presentformyfriends I'm pretty sure a significant number of the instances you hit use the same software (Anubis) to protect their websites from AI scrapers. That's not the issue here. Most Redlib instances have a sane difficulty setting where you shouldn't see Anubis for more than a few seconds. Just not this one.

I don't know about the extension you use, but the libredirect extension lets you configure which instances to use (and by extension, not use).

For anyone else having this problem, use the LibRedirect browser extension, and if you get redirected to one of these instances, just hit "Remove instance and refresh." Done!

I'm really sorry that you guys considered my instance unusable. I have set my difficulty to a more tolerant amount (3), and I've realized a difficulty of 10's not really needed considering how my instance is now configured.

That said, I see that people use my instance perfectly fine before that, but the lower difficulty should allow some to browse better.

I don't know about others, but I technically continued to use your instance with a bypass method because this issue did mean your instance (most likely?) got considerably less traffic than before and thus meant pretty much never running into rate limits from Reddit's side. 🤔
