v7 Custom HTTP Server and getLoadContext

I was trying to find documentation about implementing my own HTTP server in a very simple way and how to define and use a getLoadContext function.

I am having troubles using Vercel build preset + combining it with a react-router hono library, so I wanted to build mine.

I could not find that in the RR7 docs, can someone please guide me to the right direction?

Im trying to get the context without a custom server, tried everything from a custom vite plugin to various hybrid situations, each one with their own downsides ranging from compilation issues to runtime. Im working in a nx monorepo setup with the latest react router version and preferably a custom server that resides in its own library. After almost two weeks of trying im about to give up.. i cant seem to get it to work.

I dont know if the upcoming Middleware feature could solve this (I havent tried but it could be)

Anyway I ended up creating my own custom server using Hono https://github.com/pizzajsdev/pizzajs

But indeed it would be nice to have a better way to add data to context without complicated hacks, and better docs for custom servers

Yeah good one, i tried that today but a lot of other stuff broke unfortunately.

I eventually got it working by having the custom server be a .js file, and dynamically import the addLoadContext function (which is a ts file importing various ts files subsequently)

It's not ideal but hey, it works!

Next to that, i do agree that a concise example repo with accompanying docs instead of have a treasure hunt across repositories should be nice 🙏
