indie-stack: extra unused code or voodoo magic?

Hi everybody,

I found this snippet on root.tsx on the indie-stack:

export const loader = async ({ request }: LoaderFunctionArgs) => {
  return json({ user: await getUser(request) });
};

But there's no useLoaderData on the component. Is this extra and unused code or I totally misunderstood Remix and somehow that data can be read by another route down the line?
