String from render full of \n's

The output from my templates looks good in the browser (through email dev) but when rendering it in Express the returned render looks like this:

                       </tbody>\n' +
                        </table>\n' +
                      </td>\n' +
                    </tr>\n' +
                </tbody>\n' +

I render it in Express this way;

      // Use React.createElement to create an element from component
      const emailElement = React.createElement(EmailComponent, {
        ...emailRequest.data,
      });

      // Render email template
      const emailHtml = render(emailElement, { pretty: true });
      console.log('emailHtml: ', emailHtml);

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

The cause of this is the pretty: true option. Remove it or set it to false, and the HTML should then be minified.
