Make tests for NDJSON bundling functionality

There is some room for new tests with the new NDJSON bundling functionality. Testing things like the bundle sizes with the threshold when they're sent to the workers, testing that an an incomplete bundle is sent given there are no messages waiting in the message channel, etc...
