Synchronized scrolling in live preview failing to move at all in some circumstance

My config

Ubuntu 24.04LTS
ReText 8.02
Installed MathJax locally with sudo apt install libjs-mathjax

Issue, with steps to reproduce

I checked the WebEngine (Chromium) option in the menu.
I switched on the live preview (Ctrl-L)
In the Editor pane I started with a numbered list, where I copied several times a Lorem Ipsum text (approx 6 lines long) like :

 1. Lorem ipsum [...
...] sit amet.
 2. Lorem ipsum [...
...] sit amet.

[...]

 40. Lorem ipsum [...
...] sit amet.

The scroll sync does not work at all, if I modify in the editor pane or just use arrow keys in this same editor pane.

Expected behaviour

Live preview scroll syncs when I modify and also when I use arrow keys, in the editor pane.

Workaround

If I add a separate first line at the beginning of the file, it works

Live preview scroll does not work for me at all - same OS and retext version. I have tried using cursor navigation, and also scroll bars on both sides.

Just copy this text repeatedly into a markdown file to reproduce:

aaa

aaaa

I installed and ran with all default settings.
