Reading temp from MQTT

Hi Revk,

I've non-bluetooth (Zigbee) temperature probes.
I see in the "advanced" section of the manual an option named "Remote".
Is this "Remote" an MQTT command too?

My goal is to get Faikin to read temperatures from the MQTT stream. I would then push the temperature reading from my Zigbee probes to the MQTT topic every 5/10 min, and instead of relying on an external temperature probe reading, Faikin would consider this value as the room's reference temperature.

But I'm not quite sure "Remote" does this?

You can send regular MQTT control commands to advise room temperature, and targets is you like. That is how I run my Faikin.

Just to be sure not to break anything, to set the room temperature reading to 19°C, I'd have to send the following MQTT command (if in CLI mode on a linux):

mosquitto_pub -h localhost -p 1883 -u whatever -P whichever -t "setting/faikin-living1" -m "{“env”:19}"

I think it is a command/faikin-living1/control message, not a setting, and sent regularly.

Ok, so for someone later finding this thread:

mosquitto_pub -h localhost -p 1883 -u whatever -P whichever -t "command/faikin-living1/control" -m '{“env”:"19"}'

And something like every 10 minutes, perfect. Thanks.

I think the timeout is more like a minute or two
