FTXM35YVMA Compatibility

Hi all. I am looking at getting a new split system installed and have been quoted the Daikin Alira X FTXM35YVMA.

Looking at the compatibility list, I see that the FTXMxxWVMA is compatible via a S21 Type B cable, but the FTXM35YVMA (or more generally, FTXMxxYVMA) is not listed.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the FTXMxxWVMA and FTXMxxYVMA models, or it is pretty much the same and should be compatible?

Answered my own question. The FTXM35YVMA is NOT compatible out of the box, and requires the BRP067A42 Remote Control PC-Board Set. I have updated the Wiki with this compatibility information.

Could you share a bit more information? Why is the BRP067A42 Remote Control PC-Board Set required?

I'm asking as I'm considering the CTKMxxZVMG series (for which I do not find any info around compatibility) which lists BRP067A42 as an optional item in the brochure.

Hey @chrisvdb TLDR: As it turns out, I didn't actually need the BRP067A42 - I could have just used a different cable to connect the Faikin.

On the FTXM35YVMA there was no connector on the mainboard suitable for the Type B cable which I purchased with the Faikin...but my installer found the BRP067A42 which did fit the mainboard connector and had the correct type of connector to allow the Faikin to be attached.

However, subsequent to that I discovered that I could have just used a Type D cable to connect the Faikin directly to the mainboard without the need for the BRP067A42. Note, I haven't tested this myself but it looks like it would work.

So check the type of connector (which I am guessing might be the same as the FTXM35YVMA, if that is showing the BRP067A42 as an optional accessory) and you might be able to get away with just getting a Type D cable instead. Hope this helps!
