FTX25K2V1B support: Needs newest model ?

Hi,
2 quick questions:
I have 2016 FTX25K2V1B with a (non-cloud) BRP069A4X wifi adapter connected.

Problem is that from time to time the wifi adapter falls off my network (it's the only device that does this) while being 2 meters away from the AP. Usually it comes back after a couple of days but it's unreliable to do any scheduling of turning the AC on or off.
So I want to replace it with a Faikin.

Q1) Managed to find my type supported according to this page but it has this note, what does that mean?:
Needs newest model, with 5V Tx working
Is just a reference to get the "latest" available Faikin version on Amazon or does it reference to the AC?

Q2) Can I just rip open the BRP069A4X wifi case, unplug the cable and plug it into the Faikin, hook it up to HA and all will be well?

@revk Wanted to share that I indeed replaced my old adapter with the new faikin and the installation was a breeze.
Cracked open the old case and replaced the old wifi adapter with the faikin which even fitted in the old wifi case after removing a few bits from the surrounding area of the faikin:

Connected to the faikin and put in the information of my wifi network.
I then went into HA, removed the old adapter from the Daikin integration and added the ip from the faikin and we were off to the races!
Don't know if I should keep using the daikin integration or switch to MQTT. (or use both?) haven't been able to read anything which points out what the big difference is between the two so I stuck to the HA Daikin Integration for now.
