If temp is stable it does auto power off, but as long as temp goes outside target (or predicts to) it keeps on and adjusts target to start/stop the heat/cool. There is no option to use power on/off for the heat on/off or cool on/off at present. |

Hello All,
I’m trying to better understand the Faikin auto controls and how to configure them for my situation. My goal is for the auto mode to completely power off the Daikin system when the setpoints are reached, rather than just adjusting the setpoint to “fake” an off state.
Right now, my setup only changes the Daikin’s setpoint, which leaves the indoor unit’s fan running. This causes bursts of high humidity, as condensate collected on the coils during cooling is blown back into the room by the fan.
Background:
I recently moved into a new apartment where the system is oversized for the square footage. This results in very short cooling cycles and large humidity swings. I’m hoping Faikin auto can make the minisplit behave more like a traditional air handler by fully shutting down when not cooling.
I have a BLE temperature sensor, so I don’t need to rely on air temperature from the unit’s fan to decide when to run.
Has anyone set up Faikin auto to fully power off the unit under these conditions? I’d appreciate it if you could share your settings or approach.
Thanks!
Jonathan
