Thanks for all the work that’s gone into Faikin. it’s really an impressive project. Before posting I went through the manual several times and tested the relevant settings, but I still can’t find a way to get a clear hysteresis band in cooling. I’ve tried range and pushtemp in auto mode, and explored thermostat mode as well, yet the unit always reactivates as soon as the temperature rises a fraction above the setpoint instead of waiting for a user-defined delta. Based on the manual, pushtemp looked like the most promising option, so I set it to 1C, yet Faikin still reactivates cooling after only a 0.1C increase. If there’s a parameter I’ve overlooked, I’d be grateful for any pointers. |

I’m trying to figure out whether it’s possible to set a user-defined hysteresis in either auto or thermostat mode.
In auto mode, the current range option seems to behave more like an offset for the target temperature than a real hysteresis band.
For example, if I set the target temperature to 20 °C with a ±1 °C range, Faikin behaves as if I’d simply set 21 °C without any range. Am I misunderstanding this?
Likewise, pushtemp appears to work in the same way.
If I set 20 °C as the target with ±1 °C range and pushtemp to 1 °C, the calculation seems to be 20+1-1=20, which feels like it cancels itself out. Is that interpretation correct?
In thermostat mode, I can’t find any way to add hysteresis at all: the AC turns back on even when the room temperature rises only 0.1 °C above the target.
What I’d like in cooling mode is very simple: if I set 21 °C with a ±1 °C range, the unit should cool down the room to 20 °C, stop, stay off until the room warms up to 22 °C, then start again and repeat that cycle. Or even without a ± range, just cool down the room to the target temperature, stop, and wait for a user-defined temperature rise before turning on again.
I don’t want prediction or complex logic — just straightforward on/off control at those thresholds.
Is that behaviour currently possible?
