Improved Block Feature #960

This is unfortunately not a "one size fits all" problem. The solution you're suggesting would render conversations that others are having with a blocked user confusing to most users, and would likely cause them to contact us about a "bug". |

Yeah, I totally understand. I'm just trying to put out ideas that might
spark better solutions.

There is potential to make a client setting for this, but it would
absolutely default to "off".

Yeah this is one of my biggest pet peeves on discord. I understand it making it confusing if you completely hide the blocked user, but it would be nice if it was an option or something. |

Could this be done at a per sever level? The default could be the standard discord way where you can't see what they post. The other options would be to block visibility of all of your activity (except perhaps moderators/admins of the server, in a read only state for managing the server), or give the user which choice they would like. |

Not entirely sure if this would be a new feature. But I would love to see the block system improved. Currently it is just as weak as the Discord block system.
When I block someone, it isn't because I just don't want to talk to them. It is because I don't want to see them around the communities we share anymore. I don't want to see "post hidden" or something like that. I just don't want to see anything they post. Ever. I don't want them to see anything I post. Ever.
I'm not an experienced developer or anything, so I don't know if this is simply a limitation of this type of platform. But as a frustrated user who has multiple communities that would move over if the block system were improved, I figured it was worth asking.
